I've never read Vivienne Lorrett before so I was not sure what to expect. That she was compared to Lorraine Heath was enough to peak my interest since she is one of my favorite writers. I also love a good wallflower story.
I liked the originality of the story. Delaney has dealt with some humiliating events in her coming out and also with the embarrassing amount her father has put aside for her dowry. Although this is part of a series I did not feel like I missed anything. I have to confess the first couple of pages I was a little confused but everything started to fall into place. Delaney was a great heroine, at times a little on the dramatic side but overall a fun heroine that I enjoyed.
Griffin, the hero, was also fun. They had great chemistry and great banter. I loved that the author showed him with his family, it gave a different perspective to Griffin. Although Delaney is determined to avoid Griffing it quickly becomes apparent that he is the answer to all her problems and although he wants to stay out of her life, Griffin quickly realizes that he needs to step in and help Delaney. I knew that this was a romance novel but I wan not expecting the adventure, that was a nice touch. Overall, I enjoyed the book and found it to be fun. I put it down a couple of times and came back to it and it was worth the read.

I fell
in love with fairy tales and the romance behind happily ever after at
a very young age. Like a lot of you, I tweaked the fables bit by bit
in my imagination until they suited me perfectly. By the time I was
eleven, a teacher encouraged me to start writing.
Throughout
the years that followed, my teachers remained my most fervent
supporters, giving me the tools I needed to continue my journey
as a writer.
My
husband and I have two teenage boys, who are heroes in their own
right. For now, we live in a small Midwestern town near Lake
Michigan…until a time in the future when a new adventure calls us
to other shores.
I am
currently working on my next novel, but I always enjoy hearing
